Micro-credentials: Skills for the Future!
Liberty High School is leading the pack!

Libery

Oakmont Education was honored to be included in the first wave of innovative community partners to participate in this pipeline with special emphasis on our resiliency program.

University of Dayton Staff and graduates of IACT (Institute of Applied Creativity and Transformation) are now assisting Liberty High School with a pilot project that enhances resiliency.

IACT is training Beatrice Keaton, by providing student facilitators and covering the cost of a micro-credential curriculum which offer students the ability to earn badges in 3 micro-credential areas: Resiliency (includes the capacity to learn from experience and focus on solutions), Initiative (includes self-efficacy and the capacity to identify needs and respond proactively), and Collaboration (includes the capacity to work productively with different individuals and groups toward a common goal).

Liberty High School students who are concurrently enrolled in YouthBuild Dayton will be earning these three micro-credential badges by the end of the year. These badges in creative skills can then be added immediately to resumes and LinkedIn profiles, demonstrating to employers their applied creativity skills and setting them apart from other candidates.
